A total of 15 455 emaSwati were among the last to register yesterday, bringing the total number of people who have registered for the 2023 National General Elections to 583 428.
Yesterday actually marked the last day of the voter registration which will be followed by the validation of the voters register to take place between June 21 to July 12, 2023. The nomination process will take place between July 22 and 23.
By close of business on Saturday, there were 567973 emaSwati who had registered.
The figures were confirmed by the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Communications Officer, Mbonisi Bhembe. More females registered as there were 312 458 and 270 970 males Meanwhile, it would seem the four additional days for voter registration came in handy as no mad rush was witnessed yesterday. The EBC had extended the voter registration to yesterday.
