SITEKI – The Regional Development Fund (RDF) has contributed over E8 633 463.08 worth of projects under the Lugongolweni Inkhundla (Constituency).
This was highlighted by the Minister for Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini during the hand-over of three projects, which are a tractor loader backhoe (TLB), tractor and a chicken shed worth E3 million, to the people of Lugongolweni Inkhundla yesterday (Wednesday June 12, 2024).
“The projects we are launching today add to over 20 projects the RDF has financed under this Inkhundla since the year 2015. These projects include rural electrification schemes and fencing projects in primary schools,” Dlamini said.
He further stated that a closer examination of the overall costs of the projects gave the impression that Government could deliver projects at low cost when sharing implementation costs with beneficiaries. “This approach permits other positive spin-offs like community empowerment in participatory development and training in leadership and business skills,” he added.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Lugongolweni Inkhundla, Joseph Souza, commended the community for their cooperation with leaders and adherence to procedures when applying for funds. He also praised KaLanga Chief Jozane Maziya for prioritising the community’s needs.
“By processing these applications quickly, we facilitate rapid community development. Delays, on the other hand, hinder progress,” MP Souza said.
