PARLY OPENING: MAKE SURE ALL GOES SMOOTH – PM

LOBAMBA – All Government ministries and departments should make sure that everything goes smooth during the opening of the First Session of the 12th Parliament.

This plea was made by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who was speaking today in the House of Assembly, after the last rehearsals of the Parliament opening. He said everyone who was given a role to play during the event should make sure that he or she was not the reason why the event could go wrong.

Dlamini, who will be attending this event for the first time as Prime Minister, thanked all those who made the preparations for the event so far and stated that all looked set for the big day, which is on Friday.

The premier also pleaded with all those involved to ensure that they listened to the supervisors and all those who would lead during the event. He said such people were important because they were responsible for many aspects of their responsibilities. Therefore, they needed all the cooperation, if they guided the nation on how to behave during the day.

According to Eswatini TV, Clerk to Parliament Benedict Xaba said the preparations were now 95 percent complete by 1pm today, which means the preparations are now almost done. Members of Government’s security organisations, according to the national television station, pleaded with the nation that by 4:30pm tomorrow, everything and everyone should no longer be within the Parliament vicinity.

The law enforcers are said to have also pleaded with the entertainers, who have been invited to entertain the nation during the event, to have done their rehearsals by 4:30pm tomorrow. The weather forecasters also mentioned that the weather would be very hot during the event, with the maximum temperature possibly reaching 32 degrees Celsius.

However, it is expected that heavy rainshowers would then descend upon the country. The nation has been warned that the rains could cause flooding in some places and they advised that things should be done hastily on the day to avoid the rains, which could unforgiving.
