MBABANE – “Being handpicked as an expert among 60 million South Africans is not something light.”

These words were echoed by Pastor Bakhe Dlamini, who, together with his wife Nokwanda Dlamini, was selected among 60 million people to make his debut appearance on the first episode of Married at ‘First Sight Mzansi,’ which aired on Mzansi Magic Channel 161 at 6pm yesterday (Sunday, June 16, 2024).

When asked about the experience, Dlamini said, “It is great to see your professional work appreciated and promoted on such big platforms. ‘Married at First Sight’ is an American and Australian TV show. It’s a big platform globally. They brought the franchise to South Africa.”

He added, “To be part of that, from the humble beginnings I come from, I have worked hard to be at this place. To be recognised at this level. You have to understand that there are 60 million South Africans. To be handpicked as a relationship expert and marriage therapist among the 60 million is not something light. All glory belongs to God.”

His wife Nokwanda was also reached for comment, and she said, “This was my first show as a marriage and relationship expert. It was amazing and challenging. It was an honour to be part of the concept that has been long-awaited and exciting for the people of South Africa.”

According to Pastor Bakhe, his wife left her Government social welfare job in 2022 to practise full time.

Pastor Bakhe is a community psychologist, marriage and family therapist, author, and speaker. He boasts over 718 000 followers on Facebook and 158 000 followers on Instagram. Nokwanda is a qualified marriage and relationship counsellor.

Dlamini has published five books and has been selling out marriage seminars in Cape Town, KwaZulu Natal, Mpumalanga, and Gauteng with his wife Nokwanda. He opened his church branch in South Africa in Midrand, The Yonder Church which turned one year old in March.

Last month, Dlamini was honoured with a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership from Myles Leadership University. The conferment ceremony was held at the Protea Hotel Marriott in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Myles Leadership University Main Campus is at Chirag Ali Lane Chapel Road, Abids, HYDERABAD-500001, Telangana, India.

Dlamini shared that he found himself in SA through business. During the COVID-19 period, he had increasing demand globally for his services. This led him to open his private practice in Sandton. He also has a church in Eswatini, which is located in a Sibane hotel.
