MBABANE– In Eswatini, access to sanitary pads and hygienic products is still a challenge to many women and young girls.

Meet 24 year old Pearl Dlamini of Ngwane Park kaShali, who is the founder of One Woman Army Foundation , a foundation that is dedicated to gifting out sanitary towels, colgates, soaps and toothbrushes as well as clothes.

Speaking to this publication, Dlamini said looking at young girls and women not able to afford their monthly sanitary pads and other basic hygienic products inspired her to start the foundation. She created the foundation to help where she can. She says her role is to provide care, nature the kids and develop them.

Dlamini said she work mostly with school going kids. “My goal is to see every girl happy. I do not want to hear stories like I couldn’t go to school because of periods,” Dlamini said.

Dlamini says she has challenges getting sponsors and sometimes she has to dig from her own pocket. She pleads with the public at large to help her create a brighter and more promising future for all young girls and women by donating anything they have in their houses.

Things that can be donated can money, clothes, toiletries etc.
