MBABANE – Fresh from the excitement of her song ‘Umusa Ongaka’ being one of the songs that were used by Lutsango at Buhleni Royal Residence over the past weekend, former ACEASWA President Phetsile Masilela today released the visuals of the song.
The visuals of the song were posted on YouTube earlier today and on her official Facebook page.
The award-winning gospel artist shared with this publication that she was humbled when she saw the clip that was uploaded by Eswatini TV of Lutsango, including some of the royal family members and Inkhosikati LaKhumalo who was later joined by Emakhosikati to His Majesty King Mswati III, dancing to her music.
“To see the royal family dancing and appreciating my song, ‘Umusa Ongaka’, was definitely an amazing experience for me. To have royalty recognise a local song was truly one of the best experiences. I was actually embarrassed and exhausted at the same time,” shared Masilela.
The video on YouTube, which was uploaded by Eswatini TV five days ago, of Lutsango dancing to Masilela’s song received over a thousand views on the first day it was uploaded. By the time of compiling this report, it had been viewed by 8 800.
Masilela shared with this publication that the Lillies Choir, which is her project, will also be releasing a video of their new music soon. “The Lillies Choir will also be releasing a video of the new music a week from now on YouTube. We decided to release the visuals a week apart,” said Masilela.
Masilela is an award-winning gospel artist from Eswatini. She is also the current CEO of Junior Achievement (JA) Eswatini. She is celebrating 10 years in the gospel industry. Masilela boasts four albums in her name, titled: ‘Zazikhona’, ‘Qina Nje’, ‘Ngibalekela Kuwe’, and ‘Umusa Ongaka’.
It’s worth mentioning that ‘Umusa Ongaka’ was re-recorded live in 2023.
Masilela has performed locally, in South Africa, and internationally.
