After months of selling her mouth watering and flavourful chillies, Phumla ‘Posh’ Dlamini is looking to infiltrating local markets.
During an interview Dlamini revealed she was finally motivated to expand to local shops from the encouragement she received from emaSwati.
“Cooking has always been my passion but I started taking it seriously around 2020 in the midst of when COVID-19 started.
“I took a big risk to focus on starting my own business. I started my chillies business which I call ‘Posh Greens’ which was inspired by having chillies with a more blended and flavourful taste.
“I started giving them out to friends and who then encouraged me to start making money out of the chillies and sell them,” said Dlamini.
Dlamini further mentioned she was also looking to having her chillies sold in big local super markets.
“I have been encouraged by the support I am getting from people and I am now working on sealing deals with local supermarkets like Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar and other shops to have them sell my product,” said Dlamini.
Dlamini further mentioned she felt Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) should not be overlooked but be supported.
“I think it is important for local businesses to source from local SMEs instead of shipping products that can be made here at home. I buy from local markets and support local so that the supply chain grows stronger,” said Dlamini.
Dlamini further revealed she also is looking to start a catering company next year.
“I love cooking and I will pursue my goals to expand and start catering for companies and events because I have a passion for good food. We all have different talents and I feel my art is revealed in the dishes I serve,” said Dlamini.
