PM SENDS KING’S REGARDS

MBABANE – The  Prime Minister (PM) Cleopas Dlamini send his regards and  a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Mswati III to re-elected Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

This was during his swearing-in ceremony on Monday at the National Sports Stadium in Harare. When addressing the media upon arrival at King Mswati III International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, the head of government said the ceremony went well as it was well attended by the people of Zimbabwe.

Dlamini said the Zimbabwean president, in his long-awaited address appreciated the peace that prevailed during the course of the elections.

The PM said the event was also attended by representatives from opposition parties including former First Lady Grace Mugabe.

“We got a chance to greet and pass a message from His Majesty King Mswati III who wished him his gratitude for being re-elected,” he said.

The PM was in the company of Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati.

He was welcomed by Minister of Public Works and Transport Chief Ndlaluhlanza Ndwandwe upon his return to the kingdom.

The PM, later in the afternoon, welcomed the Republic of China (Taiwan) President Tsa Ing-wen at the airport.

The president, upon arrival, was taken to Mandvulo Hall in Lozitha and attended the gala dinner that was hosted by His Majesty King Mswati III, in honor of the 55-55 double celebrations that took place yesterday at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Worth mentioning is that the re-elected Zimbabwean president took the oath in the company of his wife Auxillia, in front of Chief Justice Luke Malaba, who in 2018 declared Mnangagwa as the winner, following a Constitutional Court challenge.

Several African leaders including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi and Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi attended the swearing-in ceremony.
