MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini sympathises with countries such as South Africa and India for the disasters that befell the two countries today.
In South Africa, about 33 people are said to have died after a building collapsed on them at a place known as Georgia. Taking to his Facebook page in the morning today, the prime minister described this incident as being sad.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of about 33 people in George, Republic of South Africa, after an under construction five storey building collapsed on the 81 workers constructing it and left 29 injured after they were pulled out of the wreckage,” Dlamini said.
He expressed his condolences to South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and the entire nation of South Africa. “We would like to express our deepest condolences to H.E President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Government, the entire Nation of South Africa and families and friends of the deceased during this difficult time and wish speedy recovery to the injured. We remain hopeful that more people will be pulled out of the wreckage alive,” he said.
Concerning India, the premier lamented the passing of 14 people and the injury of 76 people, following a collapse of a billboard in Mumbai. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of 14 people and the injury of 76 others after a massive billboard collapsed in Mumbai, Republic of India, yesterday,” Dlamini said.
He said their thoughts and prayers were with India’s President Droupadi Murmu, the Government, the entire Nation of India and the families of those who have passed on during this difficult time. “We pray for speedy recovery to the injured and we trust that the Almighty God will give them comfort during this trying time,” the premier concluded.
