MBABANE– Last evening was a night of poetry and also a celebration of International Women’s Day.

The Poetry Wednesday was launched yesterday with a lot of familiar faces in the music and arts industry joining in to listen to the art of rhymes and thought-provoking topics and show them how it’s done on the open mic.

Poetry Association Board Member Sbulelo Jele mentioned this was just the first of many more to come.

“Poetry gives a platform for escape and helps people appreciate the art of connecting words and have them make sense and also seeks to help one see in another person’s perspective of their world.

“We appreciate all the love and we are very grateful for the support from emaSwati and various artists in the creative industry. This is the first show this year of many more that are still yet to come. Wednesdays will be for Poetry at 23:28 from now,” said Jele.
