POETRY SHOW TO ADDRESS CULTURE, GBV AND CHRISTIANITY

MBABANE– Eswatini’s Award winning poet Siphiwokuhle Christian Maziya will be tackling the real life issues emaSwati face on a daily basis.

The poet will do this during his One Man Poetry show to be held at the Theatre Club on November 26.

Maziya is a skillful poet and his unique skill has allowed him to enter different spheres in poetry including comic poetry (comedy and poetry).

“I use this as my tool to stir awakening in people especially on serious issues that need to be addressed such as culture, GBV and Christianity,” said Maziya.

During an interview with this reporter Maziya revealed that on the day of the poetry show, he would be launching his poetry album titled Ekhaya.

“This album is a collection that focuses on real issues people and real issues that happen in the home such as Gender Based Violence which is something that really needs to be addressed, dealt with and ended,” said Maziya.

Maziya further mentioned that he would be expanding more on culture because people were who they were because of it and that people had to take pride in who they are.

“All people of all ages are welcome to attend the event because the beautiful thing about poetry is that it touches everyone regardless of their ages especially if it is real,” said Maziya.

The One Man Poetry show will be supported by musicians and poets including Nomalungelo Dladla, Majaha Nkonyane, M-Nation, Bonguusa Masondo, Qibho Intalektual, Shekinah Motsa and Festival B.
