MBABANE – “Mental health is a battle within the mind.”

This was the explanation given by Eswatini’s renowned poet Simphiwe ‘B-Sim’ Ntsini on the newly recorded poetry Extended Play (EP) which focuses on promoting the fight for better mental health among the youth.

The EP was recorded in a secluded location in Ngculwini, by the poetry collective ‘Lusibane (Lusiba Lusibane)’. The project was produced by Chaboy from Rare Jam productions, which is under XLR Media, the EP features, B Sim (poet), Bungaza (poet), Msfig (poet), and AyZee (rapper and singer).

The project aimed to showcase their creativity in a new environment and raise awareness about mental health issues.

The project was produced by Chaboy from Rare Jam Productions, which is under XLR Media. The EP features the following artists: B Sim (poet), Bungaza (poet), Msfig (poet), and AyZee (rapper and singer).

“The group’s main objective was to encourage people to speak up and seek help when needed and to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Through our art, we hope to inspire others to prioritize their mental health and seek professional help when necessary,” said B Sim.

“The EP is a powerful and thought-provoking collection of poetry and music, with each artist bringing their unique perspective and style to the project. We hope that our work will resonate with listeners and spark important conversations about mental health,” said B Sim, who is also the founder of Lusibane.

According to Ntsini, the camp also helped the artist to improve their skills, gain more experience in the recording process, and collaborate with other artists. He added that this turns out to be a great boost to their mental development as well and that he hopes they will arrange more camps in the arts industry.

“More recording camps are needed. Artists may need sponsors to cover the cost of attending the camp, which includes travel expenses, accommodation, food fees, and studio time costs – so they are welcome to participate,” said the artist. “Imphi” EP is set to be released two months from now at a date to be yet set.
