MATSAPHA – “Yi-happy birthday yetfu namuhla”, said Police Public Relations Officer Phindile Vilakati when commenting on the ongoing Police Day celebrations today.
Police Day is an annual celebration of the police service in Eswatini, where the force updates the nation on the progress of their service. The celebration has been happening since 2001 in the country.
Speaking on behalf of the Police, Vilakati said that “Today the nation gets to review our work and how much we help them. We also look into our trajectory as a police service to determine if we’re still on the right path. We’re usually lucky to be blessed by the country’s leadership in the form of royalty, who also give their feedback on if we’re still on the right path as a police service”
“We’re happy to finally be here as you can see the citizens have shown up in their numbers here in Matsapha Police Academy. We’re praying that royalty will also be present today as we celebrate 115 years of the Police service in Eswatini,” remarked Vilakati.
