MBABANE– Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) seem to be on the roll with their service delivery these days.
Fresh from recovering over 14 stolen cars the REPS have also made a major breakthrough in two major cases. This was announced on their social media platforms.
The news was met with positive affirmations from the public who congratulated the police service for doing their job and further encouraged them to keep up the good work.
The police service made breakthroughs in the following cases, in Manzini where three suspects were arrested in connection with armed robberies that were committed at Ngwane Park. They include a 20-year-old man of Nhlambeni and two women aged 20 and 25 both of Sidzakeni. They were armed with a pistol, bush knives and took an iPhone valued at E9 000 from a 27-year-old woman of Mbabane as well as a Samsung A10 smartphone valued at E2 400 from a 31-year-old man of Mavukutfu.
While another breakthrough was made in a hot case in Siphofaneni where three suspects were arrested in connection with a murder that was committed at Mvabuhlungu on February 11, 2023, the suspects include a 28-year old man of Bulunga, a 30-year-old man of Manyovu and a 31-year-old man of Ngculwini.
They shot a 58-year-old man of Mvabuhlungu once with a 12-bore shotgun and further hacked him with a bush knife several times until he met his death.
Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati said the Police Service would like to acknowledge and appreciate emaSwati for their unwavering support in the fight against crime and road carnage. “Let Us Stop Violence, and remember to report any criminal acts we may see. Nawe Uliphoyisa,” she said.
