MBABANE – Motorists driving around Msunduza community can now heave a sigh of relief following a rehabilitation exercise aimed to patch all the potholes in the roads here.
Reacting to several complaints and requests from concerned residents, the Mbabane Municipal Council has sprung to action and started to refurbish the damaged roads. This has been welcomed with joy by residents and motorists here. Eswatini Positive News team today took a tour and found contractors hard at work fixing the potholes.
Those who spoke to the publication said it was pleasing to see that the council has sprung to action to refurbish the roads.
“we are grateful because driving here had become a huge stress and risky to our vehicles,” said a motorist who identified himself as Simelane.
Meanwhile, Lucky Tsabedze, Information and Public Relations Officer at the Mbabane Town Council, said the council has lined up a number of roads that will be refurbished due to the fact that there were lot of old road infrastructure in the city.
“Council does not have the budget to fix all the roads at the same time. That is why we do our best with the little that we have at our disposal. As you know, old road infrastructure requires constant mantainance. If we had our way, council could construct entirely new roads,” he said.
