MBABANE– Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini has returned home after representing the country in two major international summits in Lusaka, Zambia, and Geneva, Switzerland.
He first was attended the 22nd COMESA Heads of State and Governments Summit, which took place in Lusaka. The Premier PM reportedly engaged in discussions on a range of issues related to trade and economic cooperation with other African leaders.
In his next stop in Geneva, PM Dlamini participated in the 2023 International Labour Conference (ILC) World of Work Summit, where he shared Eswatini’s experiences and perspectives on various worker-related matters. He also held a bilateral meeting with Gilbert Houngbo, the Director General of the International Labour Organisation, to discuss ways in which Eswatini can further collaborate with the organisation.
Speaking to reporters upon his return to Eswatini, PM Dlamini expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of both summits, saying that “our participation in these events has allowed us to share our views and perspectives and to learn from others about best practices and innovative solutions in different areas”.
He also emphasised the importance of continuing to work closely with regional and global partners to achieve Eswatini’s development goals, saying that “our vision of a prosperous and peaceful Eswatini is something that we cannot achieve on our own, but which requires the support and collaboration of the international community”.
