MBABANE – Prince Sicalo, the Patron of Sicalo Foundation gave two Elderly women in Sicelwini under the Manzini North constituency two brand-new houses yesterday.
The first recipient was 72-year-old Thoko Ndzimandze, who, until recently, lived in stick and mud house with her 10 grandchildren. She was in constant fear of a snake infestation. The Prince, who is also Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, gifted her a fully furnished house, transforming her life and that of her grandchildren.
The second house was meant for 63-year-old Emma Dlamini, who passed away before she could settle into her new home, leaving behind six grandchildren. Her son, Petros Maziya, received the keys to the house. Prince Sicalo’s gesture brought hope to this grieving family, providing them with a new home.
In addition to the housing initiative, the Prince extended his philanthropic efforts to over 500 citizens, including vulnerable elderly individuals, orphans, and the disabled. Each of them received essential items, including food parcels, blankets, clothing, shoes, and wheelchairs, bringing smiles to their faces and comfort to their lives.
This act comes as part of the Sicalo Foundation’s 21st-anniversary celebrations, marking more than two decades of impactful work aimed at bringing hope to those facing desperate circumstances. Prince Sicalo, visibly moved by the occasion, expressed his deep sadness at the passing of Gogo Emma Dlamini and assured the community that the foundation is actively working towards supporting disabled young children in the region.
The Sicalo Foundation’s unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate continues to inspire the community, fostering a sense of unity and hope in Sicelwini. As the foundation’s legacy of kindness and compassion grows.
