MBABANE– SWAGGA Executive Director Nonhlanhla Dlamini has come forward to advocate for more female representation in Eswatini politics.

Encouraging voters to consider the countless benefits of electing women, Dlamini said she seeks to address the longstanding underrepresentation of women in parliament. With her powerful call-to-action, Dlamini said she was aiming to instigate a positive shift towards gender equality and increased female participation in decision-making.

According to Dlamini; an esteemed figure in advocating for women’s rights and gender equality, has dedicated her life to dismantling discriminatory barriers within society. Recognizing the power of political representation, she highlighted the urgent need to shift societal attitudes towards women in leadership roles in Eswatini.

In her recent address, Dlamini stated that through collective efforts, voters can help break the glass ceiling holding back women in politics. By supporting female candidates, voters not only empower women but also strengthen democracy as a whole.

“With great hope in Emaswati, I believe that during these parliamentary elections, we can come together to look at the importance of looking beyond gender biases and assessing candidates based on their competency, experience, and dedication to public service.” She said

Dlamini also emphasized that she believes that voters should embrace the potential of women leaders.

The Director further urged voters to recognize the immense value of electing women to political positions.
