LOZITHA – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
He landed hours ago where Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini welcomed him.
The President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa landed at KMIII International Airport.
The RSA leader will join other SACU leaders for the SACU Heads of State and Governments Summit taking place at Mandvulo Grand Hall today.
President Cyril Ramaphosa who will be participating at the 8th Southern Africa Customs Union Summit in Eswatini will arrive tomorrow morning.
The SACU summit is held today at Mandvulo Hall in Lozitha.
The President‘s working visit at the SACU Heads of State and Government Summit is at the invitation of the current SACU, His Majesty King Mswati III.
The 8th SACU Heads of State and Government Summit will be preceded by the meeting of the Council of Ministers taking place on 27 – 28 June 2023.
The Council of Ministers meeting will reflect and update on the status of the implementation of the SACU Strategic Plan 2022- 2027, of which the Heads of State and Government will provide political and strategic guidance.
Ministers in Eswatini have already arrived and taken their seats at Mandvulo, these include Minister of Foreign Affairs Thuli Dladla, Minister of Sports, Harried Bulunga and Minister of Labour Phila Buthelezi. Meanwhile, Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has already welcomed guests and promised the event will begin soon.
