MBABANE – Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation (RES Corp) has donated 75 trash cans to neighbouring communities in the Lubombo region.
RES Corp CEO Nick Jackson presented these today (May 6, 2024) at Simunye and stated that the purpose of this initiative was to conserve nature and environment for future generations.
“The environment is very important and last year, our company was awarded the category of best waste management initiative by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs. So that is how seriously we take it and we urge the country to also take part in waste management tasks,” Jackson added.
Beneficiaries included Siteki Municipal CEO Sithembile Simelane, who also appreciated the bins on behalf of the communities and passed her gratitude RES for partnering with them in effort to reduce litter.
“We do not take it lightly we are struggling in our various spaces to contain waste, this will go a long mile in terms of assisting our efforts”, she said.
