MBABANE – In an effort to help Government alleviate unemployment, the Royal Science Technology Park (RSTP) has started producing students who will be job creators, rather than being employees.
This was said by RSTP Senior Communications Officer Senzo Malaza yesterday (April 17, 2024) during an interview he had with the English Channel of Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS). This was just before the cutting of the sod by His Majesty King Mswati III at the construction site for Semlex Group’s Africa head offices and plant at Nokwane Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Semlex Group, a multi-million Emalangeni company owned by Albert Karaziwan, will produce documents and devices for secure identification such as passports and identity (ID) cards.
Speaking during the interview, Malaza stated that rather than churning out graduates who passively await job offers, the RSTP equipped its students with the skills and mind-set needed to become self-reliant job creators, enabling them to seize opportunities and break new ground in the entrepreneurial landscape.
Malaza praised the unique educational philosophy of the RSTP, which encourages students to develop entrepreneurial skills and forge their own paths, rather than solely relying on traditional employment. This pioneering approach represents a new chapter in the realm of business and technology, with the RSTP leading the charge in revolutionising the industry.
Malaza further emphasised the impact of the RSTP’s incubation program, which has nurtured numerous graduates and their ventures. He revealed that one of the students is currently undergoing the incubation process.
Malaza praised the graduates for achieving professional success, adding that the RSTP was proud of its role in their development and the industry at large. This innovative incubation program underscores the institution’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and driving the economy forward.
