MANZINI – South African contemporary gospel artist and Pastor Michael David has been confirmed to perform at the launch of the Response Foundation.
The launch will be held on May 11, 2024, at the Metropolitan Church in Manzini, and entry is free.
According to the founder and CEO of the Response Foundation, Wycliff Simelane, who is also a gospel musician known as Wyclef Sim, the SA gospel musician has been confirmed to be a part of the line-up. It is worth mentioning that Wyclef Sim will be recording his debut live album, on which Michael David will also be a featured artist.
Michael David is a renowned musician who started his career in the gospel music industry as far back as 2016, and he is known for hosting events dubbed “Spontaneous Worship Encounters” across South Africa as well as here in Eswatini, which are events purely organised to deliver the word of God and worship. The artist also doubles up as the founder and pastor of the Oracles of God Ministries at Krugersdorp, in Johannesburg.
When reached for comment, Wycliff Simelane said: “I have spent time staying in South Africa since the year 2020. As an aspiring musician, I knew I needed a mentor who did my kind of sound, which is contemporary gospel music. I believe I was led by the Lord to submit under Pastor Michael David, where I have learned a lot of valuable lessons for my music journey. Relating to this gifted musician and man of God at a personal level has helped to bolster my music journey, especially my song writing skills.”
He went on to say: “I will be recording a live album next month. All of the songs I will be doing on the night have been written by me through the inspiration of Michael David, who is an astute songwriter himself. On the night of the recording and launch of the Response Foundation, Michael David will be featured in one of the 12 songs I will be recording. He will further do his own set, and he will also use the platform to record one or two of his own songs on the same night. We are certainly creating a night to remember for all music lovers, especially those who are into deep worship.”
“The recording shall feature an entire South African production team with local acts, including Sphiwo Ndoni. This event shall be free for all in attendance because our aim is to reach and touch as many lives as possible with the power of the gospel.”
The event organiser, Nelton Mondlane said: “The foundation is raising partners, opening up its arms to receive donations from the general public in order to successfully host this launch and recording since the event is free for all in attendance. We have three giving categories: firstly, platinum (E1000.00, gold (E500 and lastly, silver (E250.00).”
The Response Foundation is the organisation that is behind or hosting the recording event. The organisation is a newly registered charity, and its mandate is to reach out to meet the entire needs of the man God created. The night will double as the official launch of the foundation, which aims to meet the needs of the spirit, soul, and body because man is a tripartite being. What use is it to preach to men and subsequently be irrelevant when it comes to their physical, social, and emotional needs.
Any contribution can be sent to 7613-5779. All the partners shall have a special seating arrangement on the night of the recording.
