MBABANE – Sancheziey Ariel shares inspiration behind a new song.
Sancheziey Ariel, born Mkhuleko Mangwe, will be releasing his second single tomorrow (May 16, 2024), titled ‘Fankha.’ The song will be released on YouTube at 6pm.
The song was produced by Ariel Empire’s in-house producer Uniq. When reached for comment, Sancheziey Ariel shared with this publication that his latest song is the second single he is dropping this year after ‘Ngedvwa,’ which was released in February. He said, “I am releasing good and relatable music for emaSwati and Africa at large. The song will be released tomorrow.”
He went on to share more about the song and said, “Fankha is a kasi-melodic vibey song with its elements infused with Africanism, rooting it to the street in order to emphasise the hustling lyrical context, which is betting in this case. The song’s lyrics are in SiSwati, street language, and English. All languages are put together creatively in a sense that only the punting group of people will understand them deeply.”
According to Sancheziey, Fankha is inspired by the many emaSwati who have found hope around betting, their drive as much as some lose 80 percent of their bets, but they still try again because different challenges in life like unemployment.
He said, “More than anything, this song is personal for me because I have backed up my monthly income through betting. I understand the deeper meaning behind this, along with, of course, what we go through as punters.”
He also said, “The song is 100 percent produced by the Ariel Empire team that just bounced back to make it happen for me in the industry. The in-house studio engineer, Uniq, recorded and produced the masterpiece, then Sancheziey came in to executively produce the whole project.”
He went on to conclude and say, “I know Emaswati and I have seen them on Ngedvwa. I can say this is also real for me and I request Emaswati not only to support me on the song, but to go check it out, especially those in the betting life, and see if they will not see themselves in my position now since this song is an anthem of punters.”
