First to take to the stage, was Sands who performed two songs from his album, the crowd favourite was ‘Tento’ from his new album Rhythm of Sands.

“Bayethe wena wa phakathi, it gives me the honour to be on this stage,” he said before breaking into song and giving a beautiful performance.

Moments later Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi stood up clapping and thanking Sandziso Matsebula popularly known as Sands.

“Thank you to Sands, for such a beautiful set we can now put our hands together for Bholoja. Please Bholoja come up and entertain us,” said Lizzie before taking her seat.

Bholoja took to stage, Clad in a semi-formal attire accessorised with his guitar he broke the ice by singing his popular and award-winning song ‘Ndzawo yami’

The three-minute song highlights a young man’s dilemma of being land jacked by his other siblings. The in-depth lyrics go on to highlight that the young man has been occupying the land for some time even his ‘Indvuna’ knows him.

He closed his performance with his freestyle song, Africa. As soon as he was done Fakazi Samuels took over the stage.

He too put on a show, armed with his saxophone, Samuels delivered a sleek, 90s ensemble. Of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Indlovukazi’s head nods and slight dance movements are anything to go by, the local artists sure delivered.
