MBABANE– A fruitful and impactful collaboration.
Eswatini award-winning rapper Lyrikal Busta says he learned a lot from his recent collaboration with South African artist Siya Shezi on their upcoming song ‘Estradini’.
Lyrikal Busta, real name Thandolwethu Masuku, is dropping the new single ‘Estradini’ tomorrow which will be available on all streaming platforms.
During an interview with this reporter, the musician revealed this was his second single to be released from his upcoming album.
“The song ‘Estradini’ is the second song from my upcoming album ‘Afro Bliss’ and features rapper Siya Shezi. The song tackles crime, which is a socioeconomic issue that has afflicted Eswatini and the world at large. I worked with Liz Harris, who produced the song, Sisa Sambo on lead guitar, and Sean Cast HQ on mixing. The song was engineered by Sage Audio in New York,” said Masuku.
Masuku further mentioned he was impressed by Siya Shezi’s work ethic.
“Siya Shezi is very talented yet very down to earth. His work ethic is out of this world. I was impressed with him as a person and as an artist. I met Siya Shezi through my manager, Sibusiso ‘Three-Tee’ Simelane. We sent Siya Shezi the song, he loved it and he immediately dropped his verse on it,” said Masuku.
The artist revealed the song took about three months to complete.
“It started during a session in the studio. Liz Harris and I created the beat and also recorded our verses. Thereafter we sent it to Siya Shezi for his verse. It took us almost three months to record, mix and master the song,” said Masuku.
The artist further revealed his album would be done this year.
“I cannot disclose the exact day or month right now, but I can promise my fans the album will be done this year,” said Masuku.
