MBABANE – Schools countrywide opened on a positive attitude today with only two having reports of violence.

As evidenced by this publication, determined teachers and pupils for completing classes reported for lesson in the morning as per government’s announcement that was released by Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini and the Ministry of Education and Training last week. In fact, the morning periods were reserved to capacitate the pupils about COVID-19 precautionary measure before lessons resumed in preparation for the upcoming exams. Despite threats from unknown individuals who are attempting to sabotage parents’ efforts to give their children education, it was business as usual in most schools countrywide. In fact, the Hhohho region did not recorded any negative report.

To make sure that operations were indeed normal, Minister of Education Lady Howard Mabuza toured some of the schools, especially those in rural areas to observe schools compliance with COVID-19 regulations and what is needed by some of the schools.

The minister told Eswatini Positive News that every school she visited was fine.

“In fact, I learnt that schools were the safest place to be and it is my wish that every pupil go back to class,” she said.

The Minister today toured Mkhondvo High School as well as Ebuhleni and Nyanyali Primary Schools.

She started her tour Kholwane Primary School in the Manzini Region.

She told this publication that on Thursday she will tour schools in the Shiselweni region where she would engage parents on what needed to be done to assist affected schools get everything they need.
