MBABANE- Many entities made sure this year’s Sibebe Challenge was an utter success.
This year’s Sibebe Challenge raked in about E850 000 in sponsorship.
This was disclosed by Rotary Club of Mbabane-Mbuluzi Vice President Buyani Fakudze in the morning on Eswatini Broadcasting and Information (EBIS) 1 program known as ‘Letishisako’.
The Rotary Club of Mbabane-Mbuluzi is the founder of Sibebe Challenge, a concept climbing the rocky mountain of Sibebe. The proceeds from the challenge go to charity.
On the show, Fakudze revealed that the club got the support of the above mentioned amount, saying their main sponsor, NedBank, sponsored E150 000.
“Also, Sibebe Resort was another great supporter of the challenge as they catered of other sport activities and entertainment,” said Fakudze.
This year, the Sibebe Challenge was in three-day fold. On Friday, there was a comedy show. On Saturday, people engaged in sporting activities in preparation for Sunday, the main hiking day.
Rotary Club Mbabane-Mbuluzi was established in 1990 and their main focus is focusing on issues regarding water and sanitation, basic education and literacy, maternal and child birth, disease prevention and treatment and others.
