MBABANE – Sihlangu back-to-back matches against Cape Verde on Friday and next Tuesday will be shown live on pay-perview broadcaster SuperSport.
Dominic Kunene and his troops are away in Praia, Cape Verde for the match day three of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday and will play host to the islanders next Tuesday in South Africa’s Mbombela Stadium.
Tomorrow’s game is scheduled for a 6pm kick-off local time while the return leg will come live at 3pm. The fixture scheduled has already been released by SuperSport TV in what will be a jam-packed week of AFCON qualifiers action.
Also, Friday’s host venue, the Estádio Pelé has a lot of significance after it was renamed recently following the death of Brazilian footballer Pelé, in January 2023.
Previously known as the Cape Verde National Stadium, the venue is a multi-purpose stadium used for football matches and is home to the Cape Verde National football team. The stadium has an announced capacity of 15,000 people.
It is owned by the government of Cape Verde, and operated by an appointed Commission of Stadium Administration.
Meanwhile, Sihlangu will be without Captain Lindo Mkhonta and youthful left back Kwakhe Thwala for Friday’s game but both defenders will be available for selection next Tuesday.
“The senior men’s national team head coach will miss the services of Captain Lindo Mkhonta due to the red card he got in the TotalEnergies AFCON qualifier match against Burkina Faso and Kwakhe Thwala who is nabbed by the yellow card rule after he received his second yellow card during the same match. Both players will be available for selection in the second leg against Cape Verde,” the Eswatini Football Association said in a statement.
