MBABANE – Eight teams will battle for championships in the Siteki Build-It Under-13 championships to be played at KaLanga Technical Centre this coming Saturday.
There were eight teams that qualified for the championships after the elimination round last Saturday at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) KaLanga Technical Centre. EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed on Tuesday.
The eight teams are Brave Lions, Malindza Soccer Academy, Korean Academy, Young Stars Academy, City Rollers, Mlindazwe Academy, Siteki and Lukhula Black Stars.
The championships will start as a round robin with the eight teams forming two groups A and B. Group A consists of Brave Lions, Malindza Soccer Academy, City Rollers and Mlindazwe Academy while group B is made up of Korean Academy, Young Stars Academy, Siteki United and Lukhula Black Stars.
The first match will kick-off at 9am with the semi-finals starting at 1:30pm where group A winner will face runner up of group and visa versa for the second semi-final. The finals will then start at 2:15pm followed by the presentation.
The winners and runner up will then be presented with some prizes including bags, medals, trophies and soccer balls among others.
Build It through the Build It Under-13 Football Development Programme continues to empower the Eswatini Child as it is not only about the development of football skills but also the education life is part of this football development programme. The Under-13 championships are held annually across all the Build It stores around the country.
