MBABANE – The senior women’s national team, Sitsebe Assistant Coach Simephi Mamba, is currently in Riyad, Saudi Arabia to participate in a five day High-level Women Coaching workshop.
According to a press release issued by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), the workshop is being organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) women’s department in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). This is a significant step in the partnership that was signed in 2013 between SAFF and CAF, to their commitment to promote cooperation and driving the development of the sports sector across both regions.
This workshop is aimed at increasing gender diversity in coaching by supporting female coaches to excel and remain involved in football coaching. It also seeks to equip them with advanced coaching knowledge and skills to enhance their career opportunities.
This workshop will cover a variety of topics such as female health and injury prevention, fitness, national team management, leadership, and communication, talent identification, analysis, football data, and mental training.
The workshop started on Tuesday and it will end Saturday. It is attended 13 CAF member associations in Saudi Arabia.
These members association include Botswana, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.
The head coach of Saudi Arabia’s Women’s National Team, Lluis Cortes, will lead the workshop.
According to saff.com, the workshop will feature prominent CAF officials including the Director of Development, the Head of Women’s Football, and the Women’s Football Officer.
