MBABANE– The second edition of Makoti Festival keeps gaining momentum.
South African award-winning musician Sjava has been confirmed to be the headlining act for the festival.
Sjava, real name Jabulani Hadebe, will be at Malkerns Country Club for the festival slated for April 22, 2023.
When sought for comment, Makoti Festival Organiser, Thembinkosi Mthethwa, confirmed that the South African artist will headline this year’s festival.
“We are thrilled to have Sjava headline this year’s festival. He is known for being soulful and also advocates for women’s rights which is one of the themes of this festival.
“The festival is about the ending of gender-based violence towards women and children and also promotes women being creative and trendy Makoti outfits,” said Mthethwa.
On March 8, 2023, this publication reported that a prize would be won by the best-dressed Makoti from the first edition.
“The competition is still open and only the top three best dressed from last year’s festival with the highest votes will receive the grand prizes we have in store for them,” said the organiser.
