MBABANE- From here to the world.
Skullboi CUE, birth name Sandziso Dlamini , a young and upcoming liSwati DJ has done nothing but put Eswatini on the map, this he has done through his master deejaying skills.
His story and claim to fame has been nothing but a Cinderella, from playing at a local pub for next to nothing to opening up for ‘Tanzania’and ‘Jola’ hitmaker Sino Msolo and getting co-signed by ‘Uthando’ hit makers Soao Matrix and Emotionz DJ, the young man has had a good time climbing the industry ladder.
Skullboi CUE is slowly mushrooming into being a crowd favorite. He recently ushered BK Lodge Crossover into 2023 this was a testament to his ability to twist any arm and ear into his sound.
When speaking on his career, the disc jockey said he owed his success to his loyal friends, fans, and the team behind his brand building.
“I’m looking forward to a prosperous new year, in terms of my career and taking off I want nothing but success. The year 2022 has been amazing because things have been picking up, especially during the festive season.” He said
A graduate in deejaying, Skullboi Cue’s first encounter with the decks was at a fully packed Prince of Wales Fall Fest last year.
He recalls this as being thrown in the deep end but he showed immense resilience and that cemented his spot in the conversation as one of the freshman and young and upcoming DJs to look out for.
It is said music and books do not go hand-in-hand but for this lad, it has been quite the opposite as he has been juggling an accounting degree and this has all but been one hit mix, according to him.
His affiliation with the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) played a huge part in him gaining a lot of traction as this is how landed the co-sign from Soa Matrix.
That propelled his status and made him hard to ignore for most promoters earning him a gig outside borders to the newly opened Mpumalanga hotspot Enkandla Lifestyle which he headlined alongside Senior Oat where he left South Africans yearning for more.
On record he says opening up for ‘Tanzania’ and ‘Jola’ hitmaker Sino Msolo was the highlight of his debut, not at the moment itself, but the conversation after because it really motivated him to have to hear the rave reviews from a craftsman like Sino Msolo.
“The year 2023 is no longer a debut, I need to put in the work and pull my weight. On the list of my must accomplish is more gigs outside Eswatini. An EP is also on the table around October. This will help horn my craft- this is the ultimate goal for the year.” He said.
