The school’s U20 Boys team showcased their skill and determination in an intense match against Ngwane Park High School, securing a 4-2 victory and the title of champions in their age category.

In a tournament that displayed exceptional talent and teamwork from all participating schools, Lobamba National High Schools stood out as the champions in the U15 Boys Section. Throughout the competition, Lobamba National High Schools dominated the standings, demonstrating their prowess on the futsal court.

In a press statement released on July 18 2023 by Eswatini Football Association, (EFA), the U15 age category featured five competing schools, including Lobamba National High School, Lobamba Lomdzala High School, Swazi National High School, Somjalose High School, and Ngwane Park High School.

Meanwhile, the U20 age category saw six schools battling it out for the championship title, including Lobamba National High School, Swazi National High School, Ngwane Park High School, Zombodze National High School, Somjalose High School, and Enjabulweni High School.

Futsal, a variant of football played with five players on each team, provided an electrifying atmosphere throughout the tournament. The smaller pitch and hard playing surface created intense one-on-one encounters between players, forcing them to make swift decisions to overcome their opponents.

Skillful moves, clever passing, and a combination of both were essential strategies for success. Futsal promotes individual skills such as ball control, dribbling, and creativity, while emphasizing the importance of possession, precise one-touch passing, accurate shooting, teamwork, and strategic movement off the ball.

The Futsal High Schools Tournament not only celebrates the triumphs of Somjalose High School in the U20 Boys Section and Lobamba National High Schools in the U15 Boys Section but also highlights the significance of futsal as a sport that enhances players’ technical abilities and tactical acumen.

Through this tournament, young athletes have the opportunity to hone their skills and showcase their potential, leaving a lasting impact on the local futsal community.
