MBABANE- A entrepreneurial boost for a spaza shop owner!
Siphesihle Khumalo from Mliba, who runs a small business where she sells snacks, chicken dust and mobile money products, was pleasantly surprised when she found out that she was the latest winner of the awesome Dlala Sibone cash prize.
The unsuspecting proud MTN customer initially thought that the MTN staff members were simply there to visit her shop as per their normal routine as she also sells mobile money products and airtime.
“People kept saying I was wasting money each time I play Dlala Sibone but look at me now,” she said.
Khumalo said she plans to grow her business with this cash prize and also ensure that people in her community always have access to airtime and Mobile Money (MoMo) products.
“I will now be able to load enough airtime to sell and ensure that there is always enough money available for my customers. Sekutababete lojikako ngenca yekutsi sekuphele imali lastolo sami,” she added.
In an interview with her close friend Bhekiwe Magagula who also works with her at the shop, she said she was very happy for her friend adding that this win would make a significant contribution to the business.

According to Corporate Affairs Manager Thandiwe Mashinini, this is the second version of Dlala Sibone which started in January and the uptake of this digital product from our customers has been wonderful. So far, 290 customers have won data while 24 customers won food vouchers worth E1 500 each. Siphesihle is our first 2023 winner of the E30 000 cash prize while two other winners are yet to walk away with a similar cash prize for February and March.
