MBABANE – In an effort to save costs, Government has decided that Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo should use an economy class airline in his trip to Turkey.

This move was made by Prime Minister’s Office Principal Secretary (PS) Bertram Stewart. Nxumalo is supposed to form part of an advance party to a trip to be undertaken by His Majesty King Mswati III to that country.

According to a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office, the move by PS Stewart was applauded by many Government officials, who viewed it as a cost cutting exercise on external trips.

When contacted on the latest developments, Nxumalo referred questions on this matter to Stewart.

However, the Government mouthpiece acknowledged that there was a need for Government to cut down on expenses to save its money for important projects aimed at improving the lives of Emaswati.

Nxumalo expressed hope that the cost cutting measures would apply across all Government personnel in all Government Ministries and Departments.
