MBABANE– Excitement is in the air amongst Mbabane residents for the Health Fair coming up this weekend.

Sukuma Unake Imphilo Yakho’ is an initiative by Mbabane Municipality to bring health services to Mbabane residents and will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, behind the council civil offices.

A range of services will be offered by health practitioners to the public for free including Aerobics, Physio Therapy, Child Immunization, Birth Control, Cervical and Breast Cancer Screening, HIV Testing, Diabetes tests, blood donations, and many more.

During interviews, most residents were excited and expressed gratitude for the Council’s hard work.

Mbabane resident Octobah Simelane, who is also a poet, said he was more excited about the aerobics.

“I will definitely be there for the aerobics. As an artist, I hardly get time to do physical training. My team and I have decided that before we head out to the studio we will all go for some aerobics. We feel it will be a team-building exercise and start our day with a clear and refreshed mind and body,” said Simelane.

Khanyisile Dlamini, another resident, mentioned that she would take her child for immunization.

“I work from 8 am to 5 pm daily and it becomes quite difficult to take my son for immunizations sometimes because of the long queues and lack of medical resources. This is really great because it is on the weekend so I will take my son there. I wish it were possible to have more of these free services as it takes a load off from parents because we would be able to save transport and hospital fees,” said Dlamini.

Zweli Nkambule mentioned that he had not heard about the free health services but he would spread the word in his community. “I had not heard about the free health services the Municipality would be offering until now but I will let everyone in my neighborhood know. This is a great initiative by the Municipality and I know a lot of people in my area who would appreciate the services to be provided,” said Nkambule.
