MBABANE– At this point, you might have likely heard of a 360° photo booth before but, you might be surprised to find out that a popular Hip hop DJ renders the services of the 360°booth.
Award-winning hip hop DJ Supa CDQ took a leap of faith last year and ventured into the entertainment business and started ‘SUPA 360 EVENTS’ a side hustle that captures people’s memories all the way 360°.
This has seen Supa CDQ, born Linda Dlamini, amass a great following and bookings for his booth; so far he is sitting on over four major events in the country that have booked him. These include High Tea Eswatini, Luju Festival and Lifestyle events among others.
The 360° Photo Booth is an experience designed to capture 360° high-resolution videos. Event guests step on a platform where a high-end camera attached to a revolving mechanical arm rotates at high speeds 360 degrees around guests.
While rotating, it uses programmatic movements and captures videos of up to 120 frames per second which outsnapped’s cloud-based platform processes instantly using proprietary AI technologies.
Supa CDQ has also received major bookings from local corporations like Eswatini Water Corporations (EWSC), Eswatini Bank, and Standard Bank among others.
He has also recommended the photo booth, mentioning that highly recommend it is popular, In fact, it has been our number one requested experience since in-person events have returned.
“While the true origin of the 360 videos is debated it was originally popularised by the infamous scene with Neo in the Matrix where time stopped and the video spun around him. To create this effect, dozens of high-end cameras were mounted around a circular subject in the centre,” he said explaining where he got the idea from.
As one may have imagined, this setup is economical. It does not take a genius to figure out how cheap it would be to set up a camera booth that rotates your content or subject cameras and the editing work required to produce the end result is effortless. Worth noting is that Supa CDQ’s new business venture has been widely used in music videos, premiers, red-carpet galas, and even commercials in the country.
