MBABANE – The highest and most recognised International Standard of Operation (ISO) 9001 will finally be obtainable from the Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA).
This will greatly reduce the cost for businesses to obtain the highly regarded ISO 9001, as they would have to previously hire consultants and get certification from outside Eswatini.
The announcement was made today by Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo. “An organisation that wants to be certified in ISO 9001 no longer needs a foreign accreditation body to certify them. They can now use SWASA. Internationally, the SWASA stamp of ISO 9001 certification will be accepted. We pray that this will continue to other programmes as there are many accreditation standards.”
The authority for SWASA to certify organisations as adhering to ISO 9001 was granted by the Southern African Development Acreditation Services (SADACAS).
