‘SWAZI BOLT’ AND CO. GETS LUCRATIVE INCENTIVES FROM COMPANIES

MBABANE – Indeed, your talent can open many doors for you.

This adage has become true for Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa, together with Team Eswatini athlets, after the received several incentives from private sector organizations.

The private sector organizations that have presented incentives for the team Eswatini include Inyatsi Construction, Lifespan Diagnostics, SNG Grant Thornton, Watermans and Mula Sport. The reward has cultivated hope to aspiring athletes who now believe sports is rewarding.

When speaking during the welcome ceremony for Team Eswatini from Tokyo, Minister of Sports Harries Bulunga said ongoing works to install a new multi-million athletics track at Somhlolo Stadium underlines government’s commitment to sport development in the country.

“This is government’s commitment to the entire athletics fraternity and the whole of sport that we are here and we will put serious investments towards the development of the sporting industry in the country,” he said.

“I now wish to pay special tribute to Sibusiso who captured the imagination of the entire Nation with a sterling performance in the men’s 200m. Sibusiso, you have rightly received a hero’s welcome back home because of your memorable performances in Tokyo,” he said.

He continued: “I extend our sincerest gratitude to private sector partners who have rallied to support our athletes with beautiful incentives. We appreciate this support in its entirety and we are certain that it will inspire our athletes in great ways,”

Meanwhile, EOCGA President Adam Mthethwa said he was happy for the athletes who have achieved their Olympic dreams.

“We are excited and we realize we can do more going forward. We further thank Government for the ongoing support,” he said.

Sibusiso Matsenjwa said, “We appreciate the support we got from the Nation. While we didn’t win medals, we saw that it is possible and we can do it, we are close.”
