MBABANE– After successfully hosting the fourth edition of the House Musiq Festival, Swazi Boy has extended their heartfelt gratitude to emaSwati.
Speaking to Swazi Boy Entertainment, Communications Officer Nokwanda Sibandze said they were overly grateful for the support over the weekend and were already working on the next edition for next year.
Sibandze mentioned that, the numbers from Saturday to Sunday were amazing as people came out to support them.
“Words are not enough, the weekend was a movie we are still in awe of how supportive emaSwati were, and House Musiq Fest and partners would like to thank all Emaswati for gracing this year’s festival. We are not only overwhelmed by the support you showed us but we are also humbled.
“We could have never though this many people would attend but the beautiful people of the kingdom showed and showed off. Words cannot begin to describe how happy we are,” she said
She further highlighted that they have been seeing all the videos, posts and pictures on social media and it warms their hearts to see that everyone was just happy and excited as they were.
“We cannot wait for the event to grow and seeing it grow with all its fans is dreams come true. See you next year,”she said.
In addition to that she mentioned that, the weekend was also proof that House Musiq Festival is fast becoming a huge player in the country’s economy.
There were over ten stalls during the event, and a crowd of over 2000 people who had come to witness the show.
A few patrons spoken to said they were happy with the event and would definitely be coming back next year.
Sizwe Mamba who travelled from Mbabane said he was mostly there for the music and food.
“This is a festival and I was happy with the line-up, food and just the whole ambiance,” he said.
Ayanda Dlamini shared the same sentiments too and mentioned that her experience was summed up by the South African acts; she said her highlight of the night was DJ Zinhle’s performance and local spinners The Bishops.
Meanwhile others interviewed mentioned and noted that House Music was slowly becoming a dominating genre in the country.
Sivuyelwa Dlamini said, the market for house music was open and people should take it up soon.
“Looking at the people who attended the festival, the numbers are insane and this means we need more house djs,” she said.
Worth noting is that this event is made possible by Swazi Boy Entertainment and Swazi Origin Fresh (SOFRESH).
It is one of the biggest local events in the history of House music in the country. The previous event was held at Manzini Club last year on March 23. The headline act was South African music duo Black Motion which played alongside Chymamusique, DJ Soul B and !Sooks to name a few.
