SWIMLAB WINS 12 MEDALS AT MPUMALANGA SPRINTS SWIMMING COMPETITION, 7 GOLD

MPUMALANGA – The swimming fraternity in the country has responded to the country’s recent spate of bringing back medals from competitions by winning 10 medals at the Mpumalanga Sprints. The Swimlab swimming team won 7 Gold Medal.

Swimlab is a swimming club based at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Sports Emporium They train swimmers at different levels of skill and experince and lead teams to competitions. The team represented Eswatini at the recent Mpumalanga Sprints Swimming Competition held in South Africa.

Speaking about the competition, Swimlab Coach Welcome Nhlabatsi remarked that, “We’ve been off-season but at Swimlab we’ve been training throughout winter, so this was a good time for us to gauge ourselves as to where we stand. We did very well. We were able to bring home 7 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals, and 3 Bronze medals.”

Nhlabatsi, who also doubles as the Eswatini National Swimming Team coach added that, “This means a lot to us as Swimlab coaching staff in terms of seeing where our swimmers are. We’ve been doing very well in Eswatini and now we’re doing well in Mpumalanga as well.” Nhlabatsi highlighted that one of their swimmers Lucas Frasier was able to get a competition for his 100 metres breasttroke, which is a big achievement for the club. He also thanked the parents for supporting them as the Swimlab swimming team.
