The donation was announced by Taiwan Ambassador to Eswatini Jeremy Liang today.
The mixers was received by Principal Secretary in the Ministry of ICT Phesheya Dube.
It is said the donation highlights the diplomatic ties between the two countries, and showcases Taiwan’s commitment to supporting technological advancements in the field of media and communication.
According to the President, the broadcast mixers, essential equipment for modern broadcasting, are expected to enhance the quality and efficiency of EBIS’ broadcasting services significantly.
Ambassador Jeremy Liang expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated Taiwan’s dedication to assisting Eswatini in strengthening its media infrastructure.
“The donation of the three radio mixers is proof that its not only the government of Taiwan that cares about Eswatini but also the people. The mixers were donated by private radio stations in Taiwan. This shows that the people of Taiwan also care about Eswatini. The government of Taiwan has committed itself to assisting Eswatini in every way possible to achieve its goal, ” he said.
Meanwhile, Dube conveyed sincere appreciation for the generous donation, emphasizing its potential to improve the overall quality of broadcasting services in the country. He said, “The donation came at the right time, when EBIS has embarked on continuous process to improving its broadcasting infrastructure for both onsite production as well as outside broadcast. The two mixers will be deployed to our production studios and the third one is more favorable for our public address systems. We are very much grateful to the Republic of China in Taiwan and to the radio stations that found it worthy to share their useful equipment with us”.
The advanced broadcast mixers will enable EBIS to deliver higher-quality and more engaging content across various platforms. This collaboration exemplifies international cooperation and is expected to enrich the media landscape of Eswatini.
