TAIWAN, ESWATINI CAPITAL MARKETS CO-OPERATE

MBABANE – Eswatini Stock Exchange (ESE) has collaborated with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (TCX).

The collaboration was in a form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today between ESE and the two Taiwanese exchange platforms (TWSE and TCX).

According to information posted on the  Facebook page of the Central Bank Eswatini (CBE), the MoUs were witnessed by CBE Governor Dr Phil Mnisi. The agreements aim to promote cooperation and sustainable development in Eswatini, and are seen as an important step towards economic development and investment in the country.

The Kingdom of Eswatini is one of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies, and the signing of the MoU represents a significant milestone in the cooperation between the two countries’ capital markets. Mnisi was invited to the signing ceremony along with the Financial Supervisory Commission Vice Chairperson, Tsuey-Ling Hsiao, and the signees, Lih-Chung Chien, President of the TWSE, Joshua Tien, CEO of the TCX, and Ncamiso Ntshalintshalintshali.

ESE CEO Ncamiso Ntshalintshali, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the TWSE and TCX.

Ntshalintshalintshali highlighted the benefits of this collaboration, which include the transfer of knowledge and technology, as well as the opportunity to contribute to climate change initiatives through the establishment of the Eswatini Carbon Exchange. He also emphasised the importance of working with the TWSE and TCX, which are among the top exchanges in the world.
