MBABANE-A solid friend to the Kingdom of Eswatini, Taiwan has sent Special Health Assistants to the country to help improve the health care system of pregnant women and infants.

TaiwanICDF is collaborating with the Ministry of Health in Eswatini to organise in-service training at Pigg’s Peak and Hlathikhulu Hospitals.

In Service Seed Instructor, Ntombikayise Simelane recently mentioned that it was important to continually impart knowledge for saving infants.

“The first training is a basic but important topic- neonatal resuscitation. I want my colleagues to be at a stage where they can promptly perform high-quality neonatal resuscitation without panic when encountering unstable neonatal vital signs.

“We are doing all we can to continuously impart the knowledge for saving women and babies. We believe that early self-detection of dangerous pregnancy signs and ultrasound scans is vital for pregnant women to keep them in good health and have a safe pregnancy.

“This also helps women learn and understand the self-importance of the prenatal period and further apply it to themselves and their families,” said Simelane.

Simelane further mentioned that training was a fruitful project in enhancing knowledge.

“We believe that building the in-service training system in the health facility is fruitful in giving the knowledge of neonatal resuscitation among healthcare workers and increase their confidence once the accident happens. “We look forward to every new life, we value every healthy new life, and we will protect the development of every new life. Therefore, we will continuously impart our knowledge and experience from Taiwan to every medical staff in Eswatini,” said Simelane.
