MBABANE– Taiwan Technical Mission Fruits-Tree Project Senior Specialist Shih-Lung Cheng hosted a Capacity Building Project on Microfinance Ecosystem Focusing on Grassroots Women.
The theme of the project was to explain the importance of social media use for the economic empowerment of rural women.
Shih-Lung Cheng explained to the participating women’s group members how Eswatini agricultural products should be presented realistically on social media.
“Fresh fruit and vegetable logistics have not been popularized as online e-commerce platforms and learning how to use the influence of social media to increase sales is a key point for rural women’s success,” he said.
Cheng further encouraged women to work towards stabilising the quality of agricultural produce.
“Rural women’s groups in Eswatini should work towards stabilising the quality of their agricultural products, establish their brands and choose appropriate logistics to improve the competitiveness of their agricultural products and generate income,” said Cheng.
Cheng further explained to the participating women’s group members on how Eswatini agricultural products should be presented realistically on social media.
“Online e-commerce platforms for fresh fruit and vegetable logistics have not yet been popularized and learning how to use the influence of social media to increase sales is a key point for rural women’s success,” he said. He lastly encouraged the rural women’s groups in Eswatini to work towards stabilising the quality of their agricultural products, establish brands and choose appropriate logistics to improve the competitiveness of their agricultural products and generate income.
