MBABANE – In improvement of maternal and infant health in Eswatini, the Taiwan Technical Mission, as part of its Maternal and Infant Health Improvement Project (Phase II), organized a health promotion event at the Lobamba clinic in the Hhohho region. The event, which saw active participation from the community, drew a crowd of 550 individuals.
As shown in a post from their page the primary focus of the health promotion event centered on disseminating crucial knowledge regarding adolescent reproductive health and emphasizing the importance of healthcare for pregnant women and infants. Partnering with the Taiwan-Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI), the event also showcased healthy vegetable meal boxes, promoting the value of consuming traditional vegetables among the public.
The occasion had the presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. Tsuei, Ching-Lin, the Minister representing the Taiwan Embassy, the Acting Chief Nurse Officer from the Ministry of Health, and the Member of Parliament from Lobamba Inkhundla, Mr. Micheal Masulela. Also in attendance was Mr. Fernando Yeh, Chief of the Taiwan Technical Mission in Eswatini.
The Taiwan Embassy and the local Member of Parliament took the opportunity to donate crutches and wheelchairs to disabled individuals and clinics within the region. This generous gesture aims to enhance the care and mobility of vulnerable groups in the community, reflecting the ongoing commitment to improving the overall well-being of the people in Eswatini.
