MBABANE – TEDx Gwamile Street has been officially launched!
On Friday, June 16, TEDx Gwamile Street organisers hosted an indigenous banquet at Edladleni restaurant to officially launch the ideas-based events organisation.
Speaking about the launch, the Marketing and Communications Director for TEDx Gwamile Street, Temnotfo Mvubu confirmed that the event was a success.
“The dinner was our official launch and was by invitation only. Guests included our sponsors, speakers and performers for the first live event and even representatives from the U.S. embassy. It was definitely a success because we were able to network with like-minded people and raise awareness on who we are as TEDx Gwamile Street,” said Mvubu.
She added that they were very grateful to Make Dolores because the place resonated so much with who they are as an independent TEDx community and the ideas they trying to put on a global stage.
“The launch dinner also gave us an opportunity to introduce our amazing team and share our vision for this community which is giving Swazi voices and ideas a global platform,” added Mvubu.
The new date for the inaugural TEDx Gwamile Street event was also announced to be July 29.
“People can expect an exciting day of great conversations, electrifying performances and networking. The event will be split into two sessions, and guests in attendance are welcome to attend both or just one,” noted Mvubu.
TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TED Conferences, LLC is an American-Canadian non-profit media organization that posts international talks online for free distribution under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”.
