TENNIS ASSOCIATION ELECTIONS: BRUCE, NQABA FOR PRESIDENCY

MBABANE – As the Eswatini National Tennis Association (ENTA) heads into a crucial election day on Saturday (June 1, 2024), the competition for the top post of president is heating up.

The tennis community will be gathered for an elective General Assembly at 9:30am at the Olympafrica Sports and Development Centre in Lobamba, with the potential candidates to bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to the sport.

In the race for the prestigious position of President, two prominent figures Nqaba Mkhaliphi and Bruce Gama are set to go head-to-head in a closely contested clash for the host seat. Both are well-respected within the tennis community, known for their dedication and vision.

Bruce, with his energetic and charismatic approach, had been a driving force behind several successful tennis programs, living with diabetes while Mkhaliphi has played a significant role as the Secretary General (SG) for the past decade.

For the Vice President position, the competition was equally fierce. International Tennis Federation Level Two Coach Thulani Gina, Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) former president Herman Jele, and Nqaba Mkhaliphi will be the contenders, each bringing their unique strengths to the table.

The role of Secretary will see Curtis Mamba and Gabsile Mkhabela vying for the position, promise to bring efficiency and clarity to the association’s operations while, Cyprian Dlamini stood unopposed for the position of Treasurer.

The list of members included Allen Mathonsi, Masiza Ntshangase, Martin Gamedze, Gabsile Mkhabela, Philile Dlamini, Nelly Sportana Dlamini, and Curtis Mamba. Each of these individuals had contributed significantly to the tennis community in various capacities, making the selection process even more challenging.
