Another establishment to assist people with substance abuse has been launched in the Capital City of Eswatini and its mandate is to instil the above mentioned attributes to people.
Known as Teshuva Return, the Counselling Centre has opened its doors to help people out of addiction by giving them individual counselling and peer group support.
Located at Dzeliwe Street opposite Eswatini Sugar Association (ESA), Teshuva Return works in partnership with Heal (Healing Educating Addicted Lives) Ministries.
Heal Ministries is a support group aimed at helping families suffering from substance abuse.
Speaking to George Junior, Founder of Teshuva Return, he said the motivation behind the initiative came after he recovered from substance abuse.
“I have a deep desire to assist other people out of addiction and I, and the team, will do that through this Teshuva, which means the return in Hebrew.
“We will assist people in private and in groups, depending on the packages they are comfortable with. We encourage people to join group sessions so they do not remain in the dark with their addiction, as that is when it continues consuming them. Also, we will be counselling the families of people with addiction because they also go through a lot,” said the founder.
George Junior also said they would be linking people with addiction with professional counsellors who are all over the country.
When asked if people would be charged for their services, the founder said they would charge, minimally, mainly for private sessions.
“Worth noting is that we are an NGO so we will thrive through donations and offering baskets which will be at the centre. We will put into consideration that people with addiction need assistance and be very lenient on charges,” he said.
