MBABANE – A net score of 71 was enough for Thabiso Gama to win the March ESRIC Monthly Mug played at Mbabane Golf Club this Saturday.
Gama won the trophy on a count back. Mananga Golf Club’s Valentine Maziya also played net 71 and won the main prize over Gama on a count back. Vusi H. Dlamini won the gross category on 74, playing two-over par.
There was an impressive four golfers on net 72 in what was a competitive day on the Mbabane Golf course greens.
Eswatini Golf Union president and senior golfer Albert Mhlanga rolled back the years to win the previous edition of the ESRIC Monthly Mug in February.
On that day, Mhlanga played a commanding net 68 to beat 52 other golfers.
Siboniso Simelane won the gross category with an excellent score of 72, matching the course in the process.
The runner-up in the net category was Musa Shongwe on net 69 while Sibusiso Shongwe came third on 70, winning on a count back.
